Mars and Venus in the Workplace:
An Overview of Programming Possibilities
The Mars and Venus Workplace material is both highly flexible and practical. The workshops are always fun and engaging.
It provides participants with a positive way to understand the differences between the genders. They also emphasizes
that while there clearly are gender differences, everyone has Martian and Venusian sides. Some women are more
on their Martian side and some men are more on the Venusian side. People are sometimes on a different planet depending
on the context they are in.
People often think that they are speaking the same language and coming from the same culture when in fact they
are not! It is the lack of clarity and confusion over these "cultural differences" between Mars and
Venus that creates so many of the communication and interpersonal problems that result in higher stress and lower
productivity.
Our goal is to provide participants with practical concepts, specific skills that will lead to improved results
in the real world. Our trainings are customized to the needs of your organization. For Workshop formats the core
material has been organized into modules. Each module is between 40 minutes to one hour in length so that they
can be done individually or joined together in a 2-3 hour format. Each module has the following format
1) Introduce a Mars Venus Concept or Difference
2) Demonstrate the concept
a) Elicit from participants examples that illustrate the point
b) Facilitator Presents clear examples that illustrate the point
3) Teach a Specific Skill Set of tools to address the difference
4) Have participants practice the tools through a verbal or written exercise that
demonstrates mastery.
In addition to the workshop format, we can teach this material in a one-hour condensed lecture or Keynote address
format. Obviously we cannot cover all of the material in that time frame.

Present key differences in how Martians and Venusians speak with
particular emphasis to how Venusians unwittingly lower their own
status.
Present a skill set of verbal non-verbal and para-verbal behaviors that
make Martians and Venusians take you seriously. Present the "all
purpose" intervention to elicit cooperation from "difficult people"
Advanced Applications: The following advanced applications utilize the Mars Venus material for specific purposes in the
workplace. In each application we will teach specific skills and use exercises so participants can practice applying
those skills.
Mars & Venus in the Workplace: Lessons in Leadership
This application of the Mars Venus Principles focuses on the implications of the Mars Venus differences for leadership.
leadership style, motivating the opposite sex and facilitating teamwork and productivity.
Mars & Venus in the Workplace: Secrets for Getting Ahead:
This application focuses on helping women develop necessary understanding and communication skills set for advancing
in the Martian world of Corporate America.
Mars & Venus in the Workplace: An Interplanetary Guide to Selling
in Different Cultures. This training teaches how to adjust
sales strategies based on the planet of the buyer. It is important to note that in certain situations the buyer
is always from Venus regardless of the gender of the buyer.
